My internship at Norton Ditto was filled with new learning opportunities and experiences.

This was my first time working not only in luxury clothing but also men's apparel. Luckily I learned the store's several brands and was able to style different suits, ties, casual wear, etc. This was a major learning experience for me because I figured out how to style any man for any occassion and that men's clothing is a lot more complex than it seems.


Opportunities

I had the opportunity to work with the company's marketing team and had access to the store's social media accounts. I also had the chance to meet with with a popular Houston blogger and discuss how the store can process and succeed in their social media sites. Our buyer came into the store once a month and discuss with the manager and I what merchandise was succeeding and what merchandise was not doing well. This was an exciting experience for me because I got the insight on how Norton Ditto was doing and their future plans in merchandise. Meeting with the buyer helped me further understand the several duties of a buyer and how important the buyer role is to a company.


Customer Service

The target market for this store was customers I was not used to dealing with. High-class Men with important roles in their community and even their wives were our regular customers at Norton Ditto. This internship helped me succeed with my customer service in many ways. I was able to help customers pick out outfits for specific occasions, important business events, etc. It was crucial to make sure the customer was getting what they wanted and even making sure their alterations were more than perfect to them.
