Product Development Project- Tween Boys collection

Sketches of tween boys clothing line above that include front and back views with a variety of different colors used with Pantone Builder. Sketches were made on Illustrator.

This project was by far my most challenging project/class in my college career. Product Development 4334 was a project based class and was a hands on class on previous material learned in my other fashion courses. We were required to know how to use either Illustrator or photoshop, Excel, and buying aspects. We were required to get in a group of five in the beginning of the semester and were choosen a target market for our group. We were Tween boys.

Project Requirments

During this course, there was a piece of the project due almost everweek. Throughout the course we were required to create: Market research for our target market, mood board, Line development part one (tech packs sketches/ black & white), Production planning part one (spec packs of each piece of clothing, this included cost sheets, material specifications, grade rule sheets, material specifications), Line developemt part two (included colors and other half of sketches), production planning part two (other half of spec sheetes) and then lastly final presentations (included powerpoint of entire project). A lot more went into this project than what is stated and was extremely time consuming. Many aspects were required for this project and the content was challenging.

Goggle Doc:

  • Market research, our group did well on this part and were told this was the best market research she has seen in a while (patting myself on the backs) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1etgzZKoxXZI-5Q43DGPTmP1sI_hUK0NjVY0VM8Oaw3g/edit?usp=sharing

By the end of this project, I had a lot more knowldge pertaining the product development industry. I learned a lot not only working on this project but in this class.
